Belconnen Markets Redevelopment

The Belconnen Fresh Food Markets, Block 2 Section 198 Belconnen (corner of Lathlain Street and Market Street bound by Ibbott Lane) is owned by Elanor Investors Group (Elanor). Elanor is proposing to redevelop the Markets to upgrade existing facilities and enhance the overall site to create a cohesive precinct development. The proposal has been developed closely with the key stakeholders to ensure meaningful input has been incorporated into the design to date. The proposed redevelopment of the produce market includes:

  • partial demolition of the existing market hall;
  • reconstruction of a new market hall in the western portion of Block 2 Section 198;
  • undercroft parking area with 151 car spaces; and
  • Crown lease variation to permit the increase in maximum gross floor area (GFA).
